The Pennsylvania statute 6344.2 requires that any adult who comes into contact with children while serving in Pennsylvania, either as a paid employee or unpaid volunteer in a “program, activity or service” which includes sports or athletic programs in which children participate that are sponsored by a school, or a public or private organization, provide the following clearances before participating.
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance obtained through the PA Department of Human Services

OR Signed Volunteer Affidavit for unpaid volunteers with continuous residence in PA for the past ten years. The volunteer affirms in writing that they have not been convicted of any disqualifying offense under state statute 6344(c).
